Pearlescent Glazes offer exciting possibilities whether used alone or layered with other AMACO glazes. Layer Pearlescent colors over one another to create unique textures, colors and surface effects, or experiment with complementary AMACO glaze families such as Celadons and Satin Mattes for even more variation.
These glazes are completely intermixable, giving potters the freedom to create custom colors and combinations. They work beautifully on both white and brown clay bodies, with thicker applications developing additional iridescent mottling and crystalline effects.
AMACO Pearlescent Glazes are designed for Cone 5/6 firing and are an exciting addition to any pottery studio, classroom or home ceramics collection. For the manufacturer's featured test results, AMACO used No. 11 A-Mix White Stoneware fired to Cone 6 using a medium-speed firing with no hold.
